Raymond Dairy Inc.
The Raymond Family; New Richmond, WI
Jason Raymond’s story proves you don’t need generations of farming behind you to produce exceptional milk—just a lot of heart. A first-generation farmer, Jason grew up far from agriculture, but he was determined to work the land and care for cows. As a kid, he spent every spare moment helping on his uncle’s farm, learning the craft he would one day make his own.
Right after high school in 1997, Jason purchased a small farm and his uncle’s herd of 45 Holsteins. His father, Dwayne, soon joined him, and together they grew the operation into what is now Raymond Inc. Today, Jason and his eldest son, Austin, milk 100 cows—mostly Holsteins with a touch of Ayrshires—in their original tie-stall barn, where quality always comes before quantity.
Their milk is known for low somatic cell counts and rich components—qualities that make it perfect for crafting Burnett Dairy Cooperative’s award-winning cheese. Much of the farm’s sustainability comes from their crop operation, with income funneled right back into the cows’ care.
