Diamond Lake Dairy
The Hedlund Family; Siren, WI
In the early 1900s, the Hedlund family immigrated from Sweden and built what would become Diamond Lake Dairy from the ground up. Four generations later, Adam and Annie Hedlund run the farm alongside their three young children, milking 105 Jerseys and Holsteins.
Though the herd has grown from just five cows to over a hundred, the family’s commitment to quality and cow care remains unchanged. Annie can identify each cow individually, often by unique markings on their udders, a testament to her close attention and care. Since taking over in 2018, Adam and Annie have embraced new technology and best practices to keep their herd healthy and comfortable.
Their exceptionally low somatic cell count of 76,000, well below industry standards, reflects the high quality and purity of the milk they produce. This careful attention ensures that their milk consistently supports the creation of award-winning cheeses through Burnett Dairy Cooperative.
With deep roots and a passionate commitment to excellence, the Hedlunds continue to deliver milk that brings the best of their farm from pasture to plate.
