The Grewe Family; Cumberland, WI

At Valley Gem Farm, the Grewe family cares for a herd of 170 Guernseys with the same respect and attention their parents and grandparents did before them. These cows are the heart of the farm, producing the rich, golden milk that reflects generations of dedication.

Today, Brandon and Kim Grewe carry on that tradition, building on the foundation laid by Brandon’s father, Roy, who still lends a hand on the farm and serves on the Burnett Dairy Cooperative Board of Directors. The Grewes believe that good cheese begins with healthy, well-cared-for cows. Their breeding program is built on strong bloodlines and daily hands-on care, a commitment that shows in both the barn and the show ring.

Beyond the farm, Brandon contributes on the Wisconsin Guernsey Breeders’ Association Board, while Kim mentors youth as a National Guernsey Advisor. Together, they blend tradition, patience, and skill to ensure every cow is cared for with pride, and through Burnett Dairy Cooperative, their milk becomes cheese that shares their story from pasture to plate.
