Since 1961, the Saumer family has been committed to raising healthy cows and producing quality milk. For years, father and son Steve and Mike worked side by side—sharing early mornings, long days, and a passion for dairy farming.

Now, it’s Mike’s turn to carry the tradition forward. Raised on the farm and guided by his father’s example, he leads daily operations while building a future grounded in those same values. With his wife Jenessa and their two sons, Emmett and Elliot, by his side, the Saumers are writing the next chapter of their family’s dairy story.

They’ve always understood that great milk starts with happy, well-cared-for cows. That means providing plenty of fresh air, space to roam, and pasture time whenever the weather allows—a key part of the farm’s focus on cow comfort and wellbeing. But that dedication doesn’t end at the barn. Mike has even spent time hauling milk himself, connecting the work on the farm to the award-winning cheese crafted by
Burnett Dairy Cooperative, their proud partner for over twenty-five years.
